Summer Camps 2025

California Area School District teachers and administrators offer summer camps for students on campus. The details for each summer camp are listed below for the registration. Most summer camps run from 9:00 - 12:00 Monday - Thursday and all are limited to 25 students per camp. There is no cost for the summer camp due to grant funding. Summer Camp registration will open Friday, February 21, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. and is first-come first-serve for registration.

 

Title: Pickleball!

Dates: June 9 - 12, 2025

Ages 8 +

Teacher: Mrs. Hoesly and Mr. Manges

Description: Get ready to learn, rally, and compete in this action-packed Pickleball Summer Camp! Campers will develop their skills, strategy, and teamwork while enjoying friendly matches and fun drills. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, this camp is the perfect place to serve up some summer fun!

 

Title: Glow Up!

Dates: June 9 - 12, 2025

Ages 7 +

Teacher: Miss Nagy

Description: Get ready for a camp full of fun, creativity, and self-care at Glow Up Summer Camp! This exciting camp is designed for young learners to explore the world of self care and wellness in a fun, age-appropriate way. Campers will dive into hands-on activities, including skincare basics, hair styling tips, manicure and pedicure techniques, and nail art design—all while learning the importance of self-care and confidence!

 

Title: Crafting Days
Dates: June 10-13, 2025
Ages 8 +
Teachers: Mrs. Nicholson and Mrs. Bitonti
Description:
Students will learn how to cross-stitch, machine stitch, and hand sew. They will practice their new skills on various crafting projects. 

 

Title: Sunshine Challenge Camp

Dates: June 16-19, 2025

Ages 7 - 14

Teachers: Miss Bednar and Miss Tosi

Description: Designed for students in grades 2-6, this high-energy camp is packed with fun activities that will challenge you, make you laugh, and keep you active! From tug-of-war and flag football to relay races and obstacle courses, campers will have the chance to show off their skills and work together in exciting team challenges. Sunshine Challenge Camp is all about building confidence, making friends, and having a blast in the sun. 

 

Title: Intro to Pickleball 

Dates: June 16 - 19, 2025

Ages 10-14

Teacher: Mrs. Phillips

Description: Discover the exciting game of pickleball in this introductory camp designed for beginners. Campers will learn the basics of the sport, including rules, scoring, and fundamental techniques such as serving, volleys, and paddle control. Through engaging drills and friendly matches, participants will develop confidence and coordination on the court. This camp is perfect for anyone looking to start their pickleball journey in a fun and supportive environment.

 

Title: Craftopia! 

Dates: June 16 - 19, 2025

Ages 8 - 12

Teacher: Mrs. Bonelli

Description: Calling all young artists! Dive into a world of imagination and fun this summer at Craftopia Summer Camp! This camp will be packed with hands-on crafting adventures that inspire creativity and teach new skills. Your child will explore the joys of:

• Simple sewing and embroidery projects, perfect for tiny hands and big dreams.

• Scrapbooking their summer memories with colorful designs and stickers.

• Designing unique mosaic coasters to brighten any table.

• Painting ceramic pots to bring their own artistic flair to life!

And that’s just the beginning! Each day offers exciting new projects, plenty of laughter, and the chance to make lifelong friends while creating masterpieces they’ll be proud to show off.

 

Title: Tumbling Camp

Dates: June 16 - 27, 2025

Ages 5 - 7

Teacher: Mrs. Berdine and Mrs. George

Description: Little tumblers, get ready to roll, jump, and flip in this fun-filled beginner tumbling camp! Designed for ages 5-7, this camp will introduce basic tumbling techniques, coordination skills, and body control in a safe and supportive environment. Join Mrs. Berdine and Mrs. George for two weeks of energy, excitement, and movement!

 

Title: Kids on the Run!

Dates: June 16-19, 2025 *Please note only from 8:00 - 9:00 AM

Ages 5+

Teacher: Mrs. Hoesly

Description: In order to assist with an early morning drop-off for parents/guardians on their way to work, Mrs. Hoesly will take campers attending a June 16-19, 2025 camp from 8:00 - 9:00 AM to the track to run laps and enjoy the morning before traditional camps begin. 

 

Title: Nature's Classroom

Dates: June 23 - August 7, 2025

Ages 5 - 12

Teacher: Miss Stangroom

Description: Children will be immersed in a fully outdoor classroom experience that will provide them with the perfect blend of academic enrichment, creativity, and meaningful social interaction! The camp will offer curriculum based learning in areas of math, reading, and science while incorporating forest exploration, nature education, team-building activities, and outdoor play! The camp will run from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday beginning June 23rd and ending August 7th! 

 

Title: Drone Missions

Dates: June 23 - 26, 2025

Ages 10 + 

Teacher: Mr. Hoffman

Description: Discover the fundamentals of drones, including how they work, different types of drones, and their various applications in today's world. Campers will learn the essentials of safe drone operation.  Through guided flight sessions, students will practice piloting advanced drones and understanding airspace regulations to ensure responsible flying.  Through mission based challenges, campers will simulate real-world drone applications.  Whether it's aerial mapping, rescue simulations, filming projects, structural inspections, campers will apply their skills to complete various challenges.  Due to the advanced operations of the drones used for this camp, only campers in the 5th grade and above can attend.

 

Title: United States Regions STEAM camp

Dates: June 23 - 27, 2025

Ages 8 - 12

Teacher: Mrs. Klima

Description: Students will learn about the characteristics of each region. One of the activities will involve repainting the map of the United States located on the playground.

 

Title: Creative Media Camp

Dates: June 23 - 26, 2025

Ages 12 +

Teacher: Ms. Fetsko

Description: The Creative Media Camp is for students who are interested in exploring the world of social media video creation and editing. This camp will provide hands-on experience in storytelling, and digital safety, equipping participants with the skills to create engaging age-appropriate content while understanding the importance of online safety.

 

Title: Tumbling Camp

Dates: June 30 - July 11, 2025

Ages 8 - 10

Teacher: Mrs. Berdine and Mrs. George

Description: Level up your tumbling skills with Mrs. Berdine and Mrs. George in this high-energy camp for ages 8-10! Campers will build strength, flexibility, and confidence while learning rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and more! Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this camp is the perfect place to flip into summer fun!

 

Title: Christmas in July

Dates: June 30 - July 3, 2025

Ages 9 - 12

Teacher: Mrs. Krofina and Mrs. Lightner

Description: In this session, we will be creating fun Christmas crafts.  We will be painting pallet board signs, creating wooden spoon snowmen, making handmade ornaments, and more.  Join us for creating crafts for our favorite time of year!

 

Title: Arts and Crafts Week

Dates: July 7 - 10, 2025

Ages 5 - 9

Teacher: Mrs. Oakes

Description: During this camp, students will create different art projects using paper, clay, paint, canvases and other materials. Each craft will also involve a story with a book to centralize a theme. 

 

Title: Goal Getters Soccer Camp

Dates: July 7 - 10, 2025

Ages 10 - 14

Teacher: Miss Versino

Description: Students will participate in a variety of soccer activities across the four days. There will be games, obstacles, and activities that encourage the students to have fun and move around involving soccer drills.

 

Title: Aquaponics, Gardening, and Greenhouse Camp

Dates: July 7 - 11, 2025

Ages 8 - 12

Teacher: Mrs. Klima

Description: Students will learn about aquaponics, outdoor gardening and how to work in the greenhouse. They will be primarily outside tending to the school's garden and greenhouse. 

 

Title: Pickleball Skills, Drills, and Games

Dates: July 7 - 10, 2025

Ages 10 - 14

Teacher: Mrs. Phillips

Description: Take your pickleball game to the next level with a camp focused on skill-building and strategy. Campers will refine their techniques, improve footwork, and practice shot placement through interactive drills and fun challenges. Each day will include exciting games designed to reinforce key skills and encourage teamwork. Whether you're looking to sharpen your game or gain more experience, this camp will help players grow in confidence and ability.

 

Title: Trojan Escape Room Academy

Dates: July 14 - 17, 2025

Ages 13 + 

Teacher: Dr. Pollock

Description: Unleash your creativity and teamwork skills in this exciting summer camp where you’ll design your very own escape room! On the first day, we’ll jump right into the action by visiting a real escape room to experience the thrill and challenge firsthand. Over the next two days, you’ll work in teams to brainstorm, plan, and create your own unique escape room, complete with puzzles, clues, and a captivating storyline. On the final day, it’s time to test your creations as other campers try to solve the mysteries you’ve crafted. Whether you’re a puzzle enthusiast or a budding designer, this camp is your chance to bring your ideas to life and immerse yourself in the world of escape rooms.

 

Title: Tumbling Camp

Dates: July 14 - 25, 2025

Ages 11 - 13

Teacher: Mrs. Berdine and Mrs. George

Description: Get ready to tumble, twist, and train in this advanced Tumbling Camp for ages 11-13! Campers will refine their technique, flexibility, and strength while mastering skills like round-offs, backbends, and walkovers. With expert coaching from Mrs. Berdine and Mrs. George, this camp is perfect for tumblers looking to push their skills to the next level!

 

Title: Yoga and Meditation

Dates: July 14 - 17, 2025

Ages 7 - 11

Teacher: Ms. Fetsko

Description: Students will explore Yoga and Meditation by learning how to begin and sustain their own practice.  Students will learn Yoga poses and sequences, as well as breathing techniques and guided imagery meditations.  Throughout the week students will participate in mindfulness activities, create yoga inspired crafts and practice a variety of meditation techniques. 

 

Title: Electrify It!

Dates: July 21 - 24, 2025

Ages 8 + 

Teacher: Dr. Jacob

Description: Get ready to power up your ride in this hands-on summer camp where campers will transform everyday wheels into high-tech electric machines! Whether converting a bike into an E-bike, a skateboard into an electric skateboard, or a scooter into an E-scooter, participants will learn about motors, batteries, wiring, and controls to build their own custom E-ride. Through engineering challenges, problem-solving, and teamwork, campers will explore the future of transportation while gaining valuable STEM and DIY skills. 

 

Title: All about Bluebirds

Dates: July 21 - 24, 2025

Ages 9 - 12

Teacher: Mrs. Krofina and Mrs. Morgan

Description: In this session, we will learn all about Bluebirds. In addition, we will be building bluebird houses and 

bird feeders to take home.  We will also have a paint  and sip day, where we will paint bluebirds on  canvas while sipping homemade lemonade.

 

Title: Can you survive? The Sequel

Dates: July 28 - 31, 2025
Ages 10 and up
Teacher: Dr. Jacob and Mr. Hoffman
Description:
Kick off an unforgettable adventure at Summersville Lake, WV, where young explorers will develop essential survival skills while hiking, biking, boating, and fishing! The journey begins Monday with classroom instruction on survival techniques and outdoor safety. From Tuesday to Thursday, campers will stay two nights at Summersville Lake, putting their skills to the test with hands-on experiences in fire-starting, shelter building, and navigation. We will hike, bike, climb, swim and fish. With safety as our priority, campers will also learn responsible knife use and hazard awareness. 

 

Title: Pickleball Review and Tournament

Dates: August 4 - 7, 2025

Ages 10 - 14

Teacher: Mrs. Phillips

Description: Put your pickleball skills to the test in this review and tournament-style camp. Campers will refine techniques learned in previous sessions while focusing on game strategy and match play. The week will culminate in a fun and competitive tournament where players can showcase their growth and sportsmanship. This camp is ideal for those looking to gain more competitive experience while enjoying a week of fast-paced action on the court.

 

Title: Volleyball Summer Camp

Dates: August 4 - 7, 2025

Ages 9 - 14

Teacher: Miss Nagy

Description: Bump, set, spike—let’s go! Volley Queens Summer Camp is the ultimate place for girls in grades 5-7 to build confidence, sharpen their volleyball skills, and have a blast with new friends! Whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve your game, this camp focuses on fundamental techniques, teamwork, and game strategy in a fun and supportive environment.
