Welcome to Online Learning!
I hope this finds you safe and healthy. This is a crazy time in the world and we are currently watching history being written right before our eyes. As we make this transition to online learning, please do not stress over online learning. Your teachers and I are here for you throughout this process. In terms of Music and Band, we are going to try to have some fun throughout this transition. These subjects are hard to teach through the online format but we are going to do our best. As you navigate through my webpage, I will have my Elementary activities posted on the homework tab! For grades 5-12, my google classroom codes are posted below! Mr. Young graduated Charleroi High School in 2014. While at Charleroi, Mr. Young focused on his preparation for Music School but had other interests as well. Mr. Young was a 2 time letterman on both the Varsity Golf and Baseball Teams. Mr. Young participated in every Music ensemble and was nominated for the 2014 U.S. Army All American Marching Band. Mr. Young attend THE Ohio State University and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Instrumental Music Education with Magna Cum Laude Honors. While at THE Ohio State University, Mr. Young was a member of the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Men's Glee Club and many more ensembles. He began his teaching career here at California in 2018 where he is responsbile for teaching Grades 5-12 Band, Grades K-4 Music, HS Marching Band, HS Jazz Band and also serves as the HS Varsity Softball Head Coach. Mr. Young is so priveleged to return to the Mon Valley and teach at such a wonderful school district. Mr. Young has great family ties to California as his father, two aunts and an uncle all graduated from here.
