    Textbook: Deutsch Aktuell 2 (Fifth Edition), DeutschAktuell 2 Workbook

    Coursepurpose:

    To instruct and guide the students to use their abilities and continue their study

    of the German language and culture. Studying another language and culture will help the

    students in their further education and career and will also provide them with a useful tool for

    communicating in the taget language.

    Courseoutcomes:

    1.Students will learn more new vocabulary on a variety of topics and will use it in their

    communication.

    2.Students will listen to spoken German and will learn to function in a German-speaking

    environment.

    3.Students will learn more principles of grammar and syntax of the German language and

    will apply them to everyday communication.

    4.Students will develop their skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening to German.

    5.Students will learn about German culture 

     

    6.Students will learn to use a variety of learning strategies to help them study a foreign

    language,particularly German, and will learn to develop their own strategies.

    7.Students will be engaged in a variety of group- and pair-work, which will provide them

    with many opportunities to communicate in German and also to encourage each other

    as theystudy the language.

    Coursegoals:

    1.Students will have opportunities to practice their language skills in class and will also

    look for opportunities to use their language skills outside of class.

    2.Students will grow to appreciate German culture 

    3.Students will also view the German language as a “real” and “living” language and as a

    useful tool for communication.
