Michael S. Sears

Mr. Sears has served in public education for twenty-two years following his retirement from active service in the U.S. Navy.  He started his education career in 1994 in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District, first as a sixth grade science teacher at J.E. Harrison Middle School, then as a vice principal at the same school.  In 2006 he became principal at California Area Elementary School and Superintendent of Schools in 2016.  Mr. Sears holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Auburn University and a Master of Science in Education degree from Old Dominion University.  His vision for California Area School District is to have a district in which all students are able to realize their full academic potential.
