Eilish Miller and Mitchell Niccolai, students in Mrs. Audrey Winfield’s 8th grade Language Arts class at California Middle School, were selected as winners of the Herald Standard “Everyday Heroes” creative writing contest. Eilish and Mitchell were honored at the award ceremony at the State Theatre in Uniontown, PA on March 3, 2010. Both essays appeared in a special edition of the newspaper on Friday, March 12.
